Confidential — unreleased pitch

Industry: Tourism & Destination Marketing

Client: Confidential — unreleased pitch

Role: Concept Development, Character Design, Storyboarding & AI Film Production

About

Follow Venn is a campaign pitch created for a regional tourism board: a palm-high forest sprite who beckons a bored little girl — and her whole family — off the hiking trail to a hidden natural wonder they'd have walked right past. The client ultimately passed on the concept, so they stay unnamed — but the pitch itself shows my full creative process, from the first rough sketch to a finished 9:16 spot.

I developed the entire package end to end: the mascot Venn with his character turnaround, a six-shot storyboard first explored as sketches and then rendered photoreal with AI, a fully produced ~30-second vertical film, and a follow-up Pinterest ad series that puts Venn in a different costume for every pin.

Character Design — Meet Venn

Venn started as a sketch, created before the final style was decided: an upward leaf-crest, big curious violet eyes, a veined-leaf cape, and a tiny brass magnifying glass — because he finds things. The turnaround sheet was then rendered into a Pixar-grade CGI character that keeps the sketch's charm, so he composites believably into live-action forest footage.

Storyboard — From Sketch to Frame

Each beat of the spot started as a storyboard sketch, created before the final look was locked, then was rendered as a photoreal AI frame in the exact same composition — sketch on the left, final frame on the right. The arc runs from ordinary (a dragging family hike) through the spark (only the girl sees Venn) to the hidden wonder the whole family discovers together.

Pinterest Series — Spot the Sprite

The second part of the pitch extends the film into an always-on Pinterest series: in every pin the family explores another real location, while Venn — in a different costume each time — pulls off a tiny stunt nobody notices. Scuba diver, knight, aviator, explorer: each disguise was designed as its own sketch sheet first.

The Pins — Final 9:16 Creatives

The finished pin visuals: the waterfall cannonball, the knight duelling a bumblebee, the leaf glider swooping through god-rays, and 'Caught' — the one moment the girl finally spots him. Each gag rewards a second look, built for Pinterest's save-and-share behaviour.
